ABOUT DINAH V. SAPIA

A firm believer in giving back to her community, Dinah remains an active volunteer having sat on local and state-wide boards,  school site councils, and County Commissions for over thirty years. Dinah recently finished volunteering as a trustee on the Law Library board for multiple terms, and sat as a grand juror on the Santa Cruz County Civil Grand Jury. Before that, Dinah completed three terms on the board of Santa Cruz County Trial Lawyers Association, serving as chair for two years. Dinah also served as treasurer for the local League of Women Voters. Other past service includes six years on the Board of Trustees for Monterey College of Law, and multiple years on the board for Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County, both of which Dinah also chaired. Dinah has participated on the boards of California Women Lawyers, YWCA Watsonville, and Advocacy, Inc. (a local non-profit organization that advocates for the rights of the elderly and for the vulnerable). Dinah has also served on multiple School Site Councils, Home and School Clubs, and the Santa Cruz County Women’s Commission.

Dinah's prior service in the United States Coast Guard taught her the benefits of living by the Coast Guard motto:
“Semper Paratus,” which means, “Always Prepared.”

When not working or volunteering, Dinah enjoys long distance runs with her husband. Together they have run the Boston Marathon multiple times, and regularly participate in half marathon and 10K races. On many Sunday afternoons after the running is over, you can usually find Dinah working in her garden and around her koi pond.
