ABOUT DINAH V. SAPIA

A firm believer in giving back to her community, Dinah is an active volunteer. She currently volunteers her free time as the President of the Board for the Santa Cruz County Trial Lawyers Association, having recently finished her term as the President of the Board of Trustees for Monterey College of Law. Before that, she sat as the President of the Board of Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County, and sat on the board of California Women Lawyers. In the past Dinah worked as an appointed Commissioner for the Santa Cruz County Women’s Commission, and was an elected board member of YWCA Watsonville. Dinah also enjoyed many years of service on the board of Advocacy, Inc., a non-profit organization that advocates for the rights of the elderly and for the vulnerable. She has also served on multiple School Site Councils and on the several boards of local Home and School Clubs.

Professionally, Dinah is a current member of the Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County; Monterey County Women Lawyers; California Women Lawyers; Santa Cruz County Bar Association; Monterey County Bar Association, Santa Cruz County Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, and American Association for Justice.

Her prior service in the United States Coast Guard taught her the benefits of living by the Coast Guard motto: “Semper Paratus,” which means, “Always Prepared.”

When not working or volunteering, Dinah enjoys long distance runs with her husband. Together they have run the Boston Marathon multiple times, and regularly participate in half marathon and 10K races. On many Sunday afternoons after the running is over, you can usually find Dinah working in her garden and around her koi pond.
